Hello... My NEW GRANDCHILD -

Just wanted to post and say TODAY is her DUE DATE - but nothing has happened so far... so any day now.

And she needs to arrive soon as I need some thing else to do with my time beside spend money on her (when she is not even here yet) - if hubby only knew how much has been spent - lol.

Its five days past her due date and still no baby.... and get this - my son had the nerve to call me last night at 2 am to let me know that they would be over Friday night after he gets out of school.

Noooooooo One calls at that time of the morning "when your grand baby is past due" unless they are calling to say "she is in labor" - he got me all excited for nothing.

awww

Tell her to walk if she can all she can muster, it will help things get going. Other than that unfortunately sometimes it just needs to happen when it happens. Have they mentioned inducing her at this point yet?

Her doctor said they would give her two weeks past her due date before they will have her go to the hospital and induce labor.

My birthday is on the 21st - so maybe we can all pray for my granddaughter to arrive then - My NEW GRANDCHILD -

awww Rhapsody, apparently your son doesn't understand the "watch" mode. Babies are so wonderful, but they're stubborn little things, they will not come before they're ready! You're daughter must be miserable!

My best to all!

No he doesn't...... My NEW GRANDCHILD -

I told them both last night (after the phone call) that there are to be no more "early morning" or "late night" calls to my house from them until the baby has come.

When I had my first baby, hubby was in the service so I was living with mom and dad. I’d had false labor three times, each time my mom had to rush me up right after leaving work. The day my son was born, I felt odd all day, no pains really, just odd. I went down to my Aunt’s and she said “oh, you’re not in labor, if you were you’d know it. And if you are in labor, it’s your first one, your labor will last for days.”

I went back home a few minutes before my mom got home from work. I told her I felt funny and she said “I’m going to take a shower this time, I’m not going up there again all grubby from work.” I was restless and started pacing, sat down for a minute and got back up. My water broke. I went to the bathroom to apprise my mother of the new development. She jumped out of the shower with shampoo still in her hair and went screaming into her bedroom. My dad had worked nights the night before and wondered what the heck was going on. He convinced my mom to rinse her hair and decided he should finish the cradle he’d been working on for the baby. My son was born 20 minutes later.

All in all, I think you’re handling the whole thing wonderfully! First grandchild?

a good long ride down a bumpy road has been known to work wonders. or my sister had her hubby take her for a ride on his motorcycle, something about the vibrations i guess, but it worked. is she nesting yet?

I hope your granddaughter arrives soon. Your daughter-in-law must be very uncomfortable in the summer heat.
