So I'm watching Jaws the other night on TV, and I cant figure this out...When Brody, Hooper, and Quint head out to find the shark, they take Quints old fishing boat....

Now if you've seen the movie you know the shark pretty much destroys the boat, which was held together with Elmer's glue and some rusty nails...I mean that boat might be good for fishing mudcats on the Ohio, but not for going out to sea after a 3 ton shark.....

Anyway if you recall earlier in the movie, Hooper (Dreyfuss) and Brody(Roy Scheider) take Hooper's 40 foot research rig out to dive for Ben Gardners boat......Now this boat is obviously the newest model with radar, sonar, and room for 8....its top notch fiberglass, has a big hoppin engine (compared to Qunits Briggs & Stratton), and probably could sail thru a hurricane unscathed....

Why didnt they take this boat to hunt the shark?????.....I think i'll write to Spielberg and ask him.........

Haven't you noticed that they do some of the most illogical stuff in movies and on TV programs? I have! Makes you wonder where the writer's head was at!

It's like in horror movies, they always run upstairs and end up trapped. Why not run out the door, to the neighbors or to somewheres to get help? Why up the stairs where there is nowhere to go?
