Sorry, I'm a cat person.

I am home for a few days, visiting friends and recharging myself with life in an actual city. The friend i am staying with has 3 dogs -- one elderly, one young adult (3 years, I think) and 1 3-month-old puppy.

At 4:00 this morning, all 3 of them gave me a concert. You could pick out the separate harmony parts, even. It lasted one minute--and then stopped. I mean, like they all dropped dead at the same second.

WTF? Cats don't do this.

They were letting their "inner wolves" out and having a party! Wish you had a recording of it!

Three Dog Night!!!

Great band....

I agree with seeker....they may have heard a call from a neighbor and sang in unison in reply...

The canines in my life are very articulate and are constantly spreading the word..

Wish I knew what they were saying..

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? LOL They were just happy you were visiting them Candy!! And for your information, Jorgie used to meow ALOT more than my dog ever howled, barked whatever you wanna call it. So cats DO do that lol

To me, dogs barking, howling or baying is far more musical than cats in heat.

I can't wait til our new puppy grows up & gets her hound voice. Right now she barely vocalizes anything at all, which is weird to me because most other puppies I've been around are fairly noisy.

It would have been cool if they hadn't woken me up -- or kept me up in the first place, actually -- with 3 of them, there's a pretty good amount of "playfighting" (take your pick as to which it actually may be) at any given time, day or night. They all sleep in the same room, so when one goes off, usually so do the others.

I'm back now, and I'm going to bed EARLY tonight! LOL

We have two mixed-breed dogs. The biggest problem at night is when they hear something in the yard, often an opossum. They will start barking and run out the doggie door. The challenge is to get them back in the house so they don't wake up the whole neighborhood.

See, there's an easy two-word answer for this: INDOOR CAT. Won't annoy the neighbors, won't try (too often) to run outside, comes with built-in attitude problem so it doesn't really care what you think of it.
