For all you cat owners out there....

What would you say is the best cat litter to use to help keep the urine smell down?

Thanks.

We have two cats with another one on the way.......we use Tidy Cat for multiple cats. Cleaning it out every day and changing it completely once in a week and a half works great for us.

Tidy Cat for Multiple Cats sounds good... and I do remember seeing a tv commercial on the product, but I couldn't remember its name.

I personally do not own any cats (husband is highly allergic) but I do have two ferrets and I am trying to find a better cat litter to use with them.

Tidy Cat works best for me, i have one cat... there is also a powder you can buy that you sprinkle in to keep smell down. But cleaning the box every day or everyother day is the best way to reduce odor in my opinion.

I don't know what brand would be the best because I use whatever is cheapest and in order to help with the smell I scoop daily and spray the box with lysol or any other disinfectant spray, it really seems to do the job.

Yes, I have two cats and two boxes in my second bedroom/office closet. I have the window in there open and the closet doors open but I try to clean the litter every couple days and change it every week and a half or two. I don't like strong smells, whether it's the litter masking stuff or lysol/room spray and find it easier to just clean/change it if it smells bad to me. When I've bought scented stuff it's been baking soda or "powder" or some other lighter smell rather than a chemically one.

I use Fresh Scoop or Tidy Cat and scoop every morning. Scooping and keeping it stirred up and dry keeps it from having any noticable oder.

if you have male cats they are the worst....especially if they have not been neutered

cleaning every day is a must and I change out the entire pan once a month and scrub the pan with Mr. Clean

spraying Lysol once a day on top of the litter is also a good trick
