What do you plan to do on New Year's Eve?

I'm not so sure yet!

New Year's Eve is actually my least favorite holiday. It's like, people's best excuse to go out and act like a complete idiot. My favorite way to spend New Year's Eve is in the comfort of my own home, and then watching fireworks from my doorstep (I live in the city so there is a lot you can see without even leaving your steps). To me, it is just another day. The last day of the year, turning into the first day of the new one. I don't really see the reason to make a big celebration out of this. Sorry to sound negative; just my thoughts.

I don't normally do anything for New Year's eve - haven't since I was a teenager when I went to Parliament Hill every year to watch the fireworks. It's just not that big a deal for me.

But this year I've had an invite to go with some friends to an AA party - there's apparantely a buffet, dancing, meetings, and at midnight an interfaith service. Not sure about it - I generally don't like being out late, but maybe.

well we were the ones that allways hosted family partys, so ppl that had children could go out and bring the children, this suited us while our children were young, but but since 05 we havent done a lot, i worked a night shift that year, and since then we have lived away from the ppl we used to celabrate with as they would have to drive to ours a lot are opting to do other stuff, and we would rather stay in than go to a club or whatever,

at midnigh we will go outside to bring in the new year with out neghbours and anybody who comes out of the pub

hope you all have a good start to the new year

I am not sure what I am doing, I usually just stay home and eat pizza with our kids but this year my sister is trying to get me to babysit her kids so the only concrete plan I really have is to NOT be babysitting,LOL.

I enjoy the safety of my own home on New Years Eve. Rent some movies, play some games or do some computing....anything is fine with me (I guess my age is showing LOL)

what i do is pretty lame but hey it works for me...all year long i make at least an attempt to eat sort of healthy ....but on new years eve...well i throw that out the window!!!

i hit the grocery store and get any of the disgusting appetizer frozen things that call to me...and i cook the nasty things up...now before you say "eww she stuffs her face with 8,000 pizza rolls"...let me say i make it thru maybe 4-5 before common sense smacks me in the face and i stop.

for some reason the frozen appretizer stuff doesn't appeal to me any other time of the year but new years eve...so my little nasty buffet works for me...anybody comes to the house well they bring their version of the buffet and just add to it.

i figure i could die from a stroke, heart attack, getting shot, hit by a car, ripping the tag off a mattress, having a wall collpase on me, a falling meteaor, abducted by aliens or dingoes, or by eating pizza rolls 1 night a year...when its your time...it's your time! (which is why i live on the edge and get the pepperoni ones)

hey...it's a shallow life...but it works for me!

I will stay home and watch **** Clark's Rocking New Years Eve even though Ryan Seacrest is really hosting it now. I will probably watch a movie or two. If I make it to midnight I will watch the ball drop. Since I live in the midsouth I will watch the ball drop at 11 in New York and then we have a local ball drop in Ft. Smith so will switch over to the channel that shows that.

I am much like Pinksoil...It's just another day. I've never gone out and celebrated New Year's Eve...
This time, though, I may drive to my daughter's home, three hours away, for another holiday visit with the 6 year old twin grandsons. Daughter and her hubby can go out for a "date" while I spend time with the twins, who are so sweet and fascinating. They were here with me this past Tuesday before Christmas, just for the day, before returning home. They had been visiting my exhusband and his wife the day before. They kept referring to him as "your 'old husband'", LOL, and even asked why I wasn't still with him. I just love those boys, and they will be moving to Qatar this coming summer when their dad takes an administrative school job, so I want to spend as much time with them as possible.

For once I'm actually quite excited about the new year. A friend of mine has a house party every year so I'm going to go to that. I haven't seen the people who are going to be there for a while so it'll be good to catch up with them. That or it'll get me panicking and I'll not go. Fingers crossed it's the first though!

this is one thousand percent, pure AWESOME!!! i wish i had the discipline to stay 'sort of' healthy throughout the year, but i can't be arsed even doing that.

this is my first NYE at home. alone (with the dogs, of course). my family has gone to church, my friends have gone to the fireworks. im in a depressive spell so am about to go to bed. the new year comes in 2hrs... 9 minutes for us. i feel like a bit of a loser, but really, dont even care about that. i think i'll only care when people ask me what i did, and i have nothing exciting to say. i'll probably lie. oh well.

it's nice to see that so many other people feel like me. i'm not doing anything tonight, i'm pretty sure, though i will be up at 12. we just got back from seeing my in-laws yesterday and i am still tired from the trip, which i am pretty much every year. boston has a big celebration and i used to go there when i was younger.

I do not have any special plans. I'll be home watching some of the countdowns on tv.
