I had two really nice things happen today. First off I got a ticket to the Bruce Springsteen concert when he plays Toronto in May. I can't wait. I feel really lucky to have gotten the ticket because his shows always sell out really fast. And I totally love his music.

And then even better, my boss gave me a certificate for a day off work and up to $500 to spend on a day at a spa. She did it she said because I've been working really hard and I can't take time off from the audit to attend the sales meeting (at a really nice resort). Believe me I'd rather have the spa day. I'll go as soon as we're through the audit and year end. I can't believe she did it, it's so nice. I feel really lucky to be working for a company that will do things like that for their employees.

And I found out that I'm going to be getting a bonus for last year. I kind of new I was getting one since I had to accrue for it, but I was told officially today how much it is and that I'll get it this month. It'll let me pay off all of my credit card bills from my last round of car repairs and still have money left to put into savings.

So today was a pretty awesome day all around.

1. I got to go to the movies and it was funny and no bad words or sex scenes.

2. I was able to get all the things on my grocery list without having to put anything back.

3. The sun was shining and it was actually kind of warm today.

What movie was it, Jan? I didn't know there were "clean" movies still around

I like numbers 2 and 3, also.
It's nice to look for the good things in our lives. Many times it's the small things that make me grateful...

Sitting on the patio this afternoon and watching the birds eat, I was struck by how they cooperate and share...sounds silly, but it really did appear they were sharing and not fighting over who got the best seeds.
(Can ya tell that it takes very little to make me happy?)

Dear Split Image and Jan,

Thank you for sharing your good things. We share a lot of intense things here and these kind of posts do balance the scales a bit, yes?

1. I got some super supportive emails from pc friends.

2. I learned something new and important to me.

3. I am recovering quickly from a root canal.

1) Now that I am an official nursing school dropout- I can fly to Bermuda next month with the rest of my extended family!

2) The depression and bipolar support alliance went bowling together after the meeting Wednesday night and (cutie patutie) Jeff called my mutual friend Christy and asked for my phone number today!

3) Went to the old job tonight, the diner where I waited tables 3 years. My boss started to tell me what to do, and I just had to break it to him, Mark, you are not my boss anymore, so whatever you say will hereby go in one ear and out another! lol

Good for you split! Your company sounds awesome and it sounds like you deserve it!

My 3 nice things today are:

1. I woke up with a roof over my head, heat, and food in the fridge.

2. My hubby said "Good morning, hon" and kissed me, just like he's done everyday for the last 22 years.

3. My dog's fluffy tail showed me just how much she loves me.
