I don't have a way to show mine off but I have my real life kitty Tyger as a comfort item he sleeps at my feet. But I also have a stuffed bear, a stuffed rabbit and a body pillow. If none of them are in the right place I don't sleep right. The body pillow has to between my knees, the bear beneath my head and the rabbit cuddled in my arms.

I don't have a pic of it on my laptop, but I have one of my baby blankets that I still sleep with. c(: My boyfriend makes fun of me for it, but growing up, it was the only thing that I could cry into and just cuddle up to...one side has the soft, kinda fuzzy stuff on it, and I always touch it and for some reason it calms me down. Haha.
Thanks for this!

Hi All,

I will put mine up here soon...

My pictures of Poley Bear aren't good and I discovered I only have one photo of Robbie Bear and not a good one. When I can I'll put them up. Maybe along with a doggie and bunny that are pretty much always with the other two.

Thanks for getting us started, after our conversation, The1!

I don't really have a comfort item, and thinking I should acquire one! My doggy comes closest to being a comfort item, though a pup, and still trying to me.

My twin grandsons: when they were still infants in their cribs, I gave them two "pluffies," which are soft squishy Beanies. They, the twins, are 6 years old now, and continue to carry around the remnants of these Pluffies, thru many patchings and re-stuffings. All us grandparents have offered them new raplacements, but the originals can't be replaced!
My daughter, the twins' mother, had a similar comfort item, which was a silky stuffed blanket, that degenerated to a scrap by the time she finally let go of it, which she called "my silky thing."

I almost bought another stuffed animal today when I was at the dollar store. Where I live we have a store called Deals and it used to be a store where everything was a dollar but it isn't the case anymore and the animals were only $3 but I was on a mission and didn't give in as much as I was tempted I was a good girl and got my groceries instead.

I don't have pics - but I have some beautiful, egg-shaped marbles from T's office from early in therapy. I used to carry one around with me all the time in my pocket - now I keep them in my bag/on my dresser.

I have a beautiful, carved eagle zuni fetish from T's desk. He wants me to have it so i can remember to "soar above" the crap that is in my head sometimes.

I bought T two little fish festishes for his desk - because for a while our motto was "keep swimming" and I bought one for myself that lives in the pocket of my jeans. I reach in and feel it and it reminds me to keep swimming.

I have a pillow that I HAVE to cuddle up with when I sleep.

All of my comfort items have come along since starting T. I don't think I understood that I deserved comfort before that.

I too had a blanket for years - it was my baby blanket and I refused to part with it until a few years out of college. In fact, the only reason I finally put it away was because my cat had claimed it and was destroying it. It is yellow with satin yellow edging. I also still have my baby pillow - put that away at the same time. It even travelled the world with me for a year =)

I still can't find my Scardy Cat. =( I haven't seen her since my dissability evals...

we have a ton of stuffed toys in the clothes closet... actually the clothes closet is sort of a comfort item in itself (you can hide there whenever you don't feel safe thankfully ours is big enough)! to point a few of my favourites, i like a pink & white poodle i got for myself (reminds me of the fact that i don't have to depend on anyone.) and a pink bunny with sunglasses. also, i miss my dog a lot.

my partner is beside me every night but sometimes i feel a little distant from him so the poodle helps. however, if he's away, i'll get a clean shirt of his from his closet and sleep with it.

and: MUSIC!

My PETS are my COMFORT ITEMS (probably why I have so many of them) - you can see pictures of them in my pet album.

Someone knew that I was going through a lot so they gave me a stuffed pink dog. I hold on to it when I feel scared and alone. I love it! I don't know what I would do without it!
