Just a need to vent about things i see out there in the real world (specifically the local Mall) that I find stupid and annoying.
Overweight teenage girls at the mall wearing hip-hugger jeans and really tight shirts. I really do not want to look at the rolls of baby fat pouring over the jeans from any angle, if you are a size 16, wearing jeans and shirts meant for someone that is a size 7 is never going to make you look attractive. I have no problem with ladies who have a little extra, in the proper clothes bigger gals can look really pretty (Anna Nicole Smith when she modeled for Guess Jeans, Marilyn Monroe etc) but please dress appropriately to your body size. Teenage Guys whose pants are hanging below their tale ends. I am not interested in what kind of underwear you have on, nor do I want to see that vertical smile. If you do not have money for a belt, I will be happy to buy you one, pull those damn things up! Men who have "Back Breasts" (you know who you are) and try to wear muscle shirts in public. Dudes repeat after me " I am not built like Brad Pitt, Christian Bale (Batman) or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and I will keep my arms and my belly covered, in public, unless I am at the swimming pool, work in constuction, or am mowing the yard in summer" Just like with above I think big boys can look just fine when dressed appropriate to their frames. The Casual Male store is awesome. I am a big stout guy myself and take full advantage of all the great discounts I can get there. 5'2 Women driving Suburbans, Expeditions, Sequoias etc.. Can these ladies even see over the damn steering wheel? What the hell are you planning to tow with that thing? I guess you need the extra ground clearance to hop over curbs. Mind you there are a few (like <1%) that actually see anything other than asphault and may tow a boat or some jet skis. Why does anyone think a vehicle shaped like a shoebox is in anyway eloquent or stylish. In addition to contributing to global warming for no good reason, none them can park straight. It is true, everyone of these vehicles is parked crooked in the parking lot and usually 3 inches from the door of another car in the adjacent parking space. 5'2 Seventy Year old plus Women driving Lincoln Town Cars, Crown Victorias, old Caprices or some other land barge that should require a boating license. See above rant as far as not being able to see over the dashboard and parking. They look like a 5 year old trying to pilot a cruise ship. Just as stupid, a 6'3 350Lb guy crawling out of a Mini or a Civic or Miata. Have you ever seen the movie "The Incredibles" When the very big former super hero Mr. Incredible stuffs himself into a subcompact, yeah it looks something like that, not cool. When I am shopping, I really do not want to hear about who your sister slept with last week. Do people have any shame anymore? I am talking about people loudly carrying on yapping on the cell phone while I am trying to make a purchase decision. I guess we just HAVE to use the 5000 free minutes on the plan, while standing next me. If I want to hear sordid details of your personal life or that of your friends, I would start a conversation with you myself. People taking ten minutes to text what they could say in 30 seconds. I am suprised that Apple, Blackberry et al are not sued for people wearing out their thumbs. "PDA" If I want to watch couples makeout, I can go rent a porno, please get a room and a clue!! Parents who try to ignore their kids when they act up! For God sakes be parents and shut those damn brats up. Hearing all that cacophony makes me only imagine the headache these parents have when they are at home. Glad I do not have any myself. ![]() Store Clerks who cannot make eye contact and mumble. I know that these jobs do not pay that well, but I am already having to pay thirty bucks for a shirt that costs less that a dollar to sew together in Chinese sweat shop by a eleven year old kid (yes clothing is the biggest consumer rip off going), at least have the decency to sell it to me with a smile. Thirty minutes of drama over a chipped fingernail and yes that is how truly petty our society has become. Seeing displays like this, I am convinced that the events portrayed in the movie "Idiocracy" will come to pass and that Western Civilization is truly on the brink of anihilation. Sorry just woke up cranky!! |

Tim,
I agree with all you said here. While I'm eating in the break room at work, people yapping all loud on their mobile phones, about everything you can think of, I heard a woman sitting there, how could I not hear her making a dr's appt, and talking about women's problems right then and there, I don't want to hear that crap, and it annoys the hell out of me. Who are they talking to every second of the day, there's just no consideration anymore it seems. Alot of woman are married where I work, and I have to sit there and here, "Well my little Johnny did this today or oh how cute is this child", it's like don't you have anything else to talk about besides your own kids. In this society today, god forbid people aren't talking to someone on their phone every 30 seconds, Ugh. Have people just gotten more lazy or what that they have to sit there and text the person in the same room as them, duh just walk over and speak, geez, and how rude to sit there and text on your phone when someone's trying to talk to you in person. I don't know if it's just me, but I get the rudest cashiers in walmart everytime i go in there, it makes the shopping awful and not fun at all, kids running around in front of you, parents doing nothing about it, crying, screaming, carrying on, because they can't get what they want, take them away please, I don't want to hear them throwing a tantrum. Sales Associates not havinga clue when you ask where something is, no lemon juice is not where the lemonade drink mix is lady, I had to find it myself geez. After 15 min or so of her trying to find it, I gave up and found it myself. This happened awhile ago. Hey, I don't have to give that store any of my money, I prefer target anyways, more relaxed atmosphere. Oh just wait until the weather gets warmer, where people willl wear less clothing, and have to deal with all those people who think they look good in tight pants and tops when they're of bigger size. Less is more people, and just because you think you get attention wearing that, it's not the kind of attention you deserve. Show some class and respect for yourself act like a woman. I can go on and on about stuff like this, but things will not change in my opinion. It all NEEDS to start in the home, not in the schools, I'm glad in a way I don't have any kids. Yes, I probably am a rarity, at 36, and no kids, but I could care less what others think. There's alot more to life than making babies. I guess I wrote this because I'm tired of all of what this world has become. I needed to vent. Deborah |

oooooh...oohhhh...can I join?! *raises hand*
Do you really need to "skate" around me while I walk? If we can't ride skateboards or bikes in the mall, then the kids shouldn't be able to wear the shoes with the wheels in them!

Unruly kids are the worst, I have five kids and I don't let them run around like little demons, I just wish parents would get some control. I recently took my kids to a fast food restaurant and a less then two year old came up to me wanting me to hold her while her mother watched smiling from their table, hello I am a stranger, why people find such things acceptable is beyond me.
Talking loudly on cell phones is a huge annoyance for me it is especially bad in waiting rooms because I choose to read while I am waiting which is hard to do when someone is talking loudly.

(((you all matter so very much))))))))))))
With all that goes on in the world. I am so grateful we have malls. Cell phone, Kids that can skate board. So grateful everyone has a choice on what to wear. To express themselfs with out harm Kids will be kids. My son went threw the stage of wearing his pants low. He moved past it. It was a phase. I can say at times he may talk load on his cell, He has alittle bit of hering loss due to ear infections and 5 or 6 sets of tubes. I lost count. ![]() My daughter texts. I have before to my kids and other loved ones. Sometimes thats the only way we can get threw to each other, Sometimes its for very important reasons ![]() I think you all are great . ![]() Its a wonderful life full of annoying things that sometimes have a reason ((((you all matter to me )))))))))))))))))))))))))) |

Yes, Muffy, there are definitely reasons and times for things, I agree completely.
![]() For me it's not the skateboarding itself, it's those shoes with the wheels on them that kids ride in the mall. I have seen kids run into other people, fall and just be pushy with them. ![]() I'm sorry to hear about your sons hearing loss! It certainly puts a bit more in perspective for me. I will try to be a bit more understanding. Texting.....I did it when i had a cell.....it was fun and sometimes I did it because I didn't want others to hear what I was saying or so that I wouldn't disturb others. ![]() As for the pants that sag.....EWW! Sometimes they wear them so low you can see.....everything! I think you're great, too! ![]()

A few points of clarification. I have no actual problem with cell phones in the Mall, I carry one myself and it can be a good tool when the need arises. I have no problem with someone calling to say they are going to be late or to tell thier S/O they love them. I have a problem with people speaking in earshot of a bunch of complete stangers about very private matters, it is just disrepectful to others and to the person being discussed. If these young men had any idea where the "low" pants thing actually originated, it would stop very quickly. I cannot speak to this here in any detail as it would offend delicate ears, but if you guys want to know PM me and I will tell you. It is not for the faint of heart, and believe me though if any of you who have teenage boys knew, none of you would let them out of the house that way. As for teenage girls trying to stuff themselves into something 5 sizes too small, well I blame a lot of things for that, including the women's fashion magazines who seem to think that it is appropriate for 15 year girls to look like little hookers trying to get a "trick" on the street corner. This is the time for parents to really be parents and show a little guidance. By all means you have the right to wear what you want, but I wish people could exercise a little restraint. Skating is a fine activity, but not in a crowded mall. There are plenty of parks to engage in this activity in. Skating around is inconsiderate and dangerous behavior. The heart of my rant is this. I am concerned when the future leaders of America and their parents exercise very poor judgement and lack of fore thought regarding their actions. Freedom is only good as self-discpline. |

((Tim)))) I meant no disrespect to you or anyone. ![]() ![]() As far as the cell goes I do not ever take it in a mall. Mine will not work in one . The skate boarding you are correct on that one. I worked very hard to try to get one in our town a skate board park so kids here would have a place to skate. Young girls and fashion. ((your right about magizines and games showing that )))))That has been going since we were young. Sometimes it comes down to how much money a family may have too. The child may have gained weight and thats the only cloths they have left. Remember when guys grew thier hair long, or elvis came out. I remember reading about it. The Beatles. You are right thou these kids are our future leaders. My daughter got her cell phone my son was exposed to TB. That was when I got one. Other wise I may have never got one. We needed a way to reach each other. We use it respectfully I think. We as adults imo need to show children with our kindness and respect to each other how to act. ALot of kids out there are great. ![]() Your complaints are valid thou. I do not want to take that away from you .For that IM sorry. I hear what you are saying. There are some disrespectful things that happen out in the world and are annoying. my best to you. muffy |

Muffy,
I understand you saying that kids go through phases of things, but if it's just a phase with the pants half down your ***, why do kids still do it? Doesn't the word "phase" mean "a short time", they grow out of it"? Couldn't kids go through some other phase that's not that, geez how the hell can they go out of the house like that? I just don't get it. That's the stupidest "phase" I've ever seen, maybe i'll have the nerve to tell someone next time I see them with their pants down like that,"pull those pants up please! who knows! Deborah |

When I go to a bookstore and there are people (to be specific, teenage and pre-teen asian kids. Not a stereotype, but those are literaly the only kids i ever see doing this) sitting in the middle of the aisle reading books and are either:
a. blocking the whole aisle or b. just happen to be in front of the exact shelf I need to get to. This is why I'm glad barnes and noble put chairs in their store so I don't have to deal with that. But seriously, it's really annoying. Do not sit in the store for over an hour reading an entire book and blocking everybody who maybe, just maybe wanted to look in that section. (Or sit in front of the P section of manga because you know I'll be looking for pokemon ![]() |
