Hi,
Since wellbutrin doesnt do much for me I want to come off of it. Since 3 days I am quitting, first day 150mg, second and third day 75mg. I don't notice any difference and not the harsh withdrawal that I had from paxil. Is wellbutrin such a mild drug that I can quit cold turkey? If I google for it i only get results quitting smoking...

Dx: Mix anhedonia with Bipolar II. Add some insomnia and chronic stress. Season with paroxetine and a pinch of ADD. Stir well to induce a couple of hypo/manic episodes. After the excess of energy is gone, remove the Paroxetine and serve chilled with some C-PTSD and GAD. Ready is your MDD. Mx: To clean up the mess use lamotrigine, risperidon, mirtazapine and sertraline. Let it soak in for a while but keep a close eye on it. Meanwhile enjoy your desert of oxazepam/temazepam prn. |

Thanks. I already have severe fatigue so probably I wouldn't notice that one :P

I've tried Wellbutrin twice. Both times it didn't do anything to help my depression and when I stopped taking it I didn't notice anything. I'm usually very sensitive to med withdrawals. For me, Wellbutrin was useless.

I think im almost a week off of it and i dont notice any difference.. The only thing i notice is that i have this afternoon crash when i get really sleepy. I have this all my life but on wellbutrin i think it was a bit less. But this could be also due to mirtazapine.

I don't know about Wellbutrin but wondering what the half life is; perhaps it is longer and so the symptoms come gradually. I've heard that it is not as hard to get off of as SSRI/SNRIs. It is considered a weak norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor so maybe that is one reason why it doesn't wreak as much havoc when coming off. It also appears to have a very small affect on serotonin, another reason it probably isn't so hard to come off.
Good luck - I hope it remains easy! |

I am already off of it for a couple of months and it was very easy to quite cold turkey, no withdrawal at all. First days I think I lowered the dose gradually (I was on 300 and went to 150 and then 0).
