Hey guys,
My doctor has decided to take me off of my 90mg of Cymbalta and change it to citlopram. I've been on Cymbalta for about 3 years and was on Efexor before that and about 3 different others. The doctor wanted to do it 2 weeks on 60mg, 2 weeks on 30mg, then a week of nothing, then start the new one. I am on my second day of being down to 30mg and I am having withdrawal symptoms that I can't handle. The brain zaps, dizziness, nausea, headaches, insomnia, panic attacks, depression and just feeling like absolute crap. Was just wondering if anyone has been off cymbalta and has any ideas of some coping mechanisms to get through these side effects? I'm studying at the moment and I have no time to be bed ridden like I was yesterday. I also was wondering if anyone has been on citlopram and how they found it? Any warnings or good things would be great.

Celexa was fine, for me, when I first went on it. I did gain weight during my time on it, but not at first. I attribute to my unawareness of a certain food items total dietary content. Of course had one doctor explain that something does occur with carbs and ssris feed into that. It's then harder to lose weight while on. I lost weight after coming off it. My second experience, I didn't stay very long, side effects were both aggravating on one effect and scary on another.
Here's some articles I found on both. Hope it helps. http://psychcentral.com/blog/archive...inful-lengthy/ http://forums.psychcentral.com/meds/cymbalta.html http://forums.psychcentral.com/meds/celexa.html |
