I am tapering off Abilfy. It was causing metabolic syndrome so I do need to get off. And I am feeling better and want off meds if possible.

Pdoc wants me off fairly quickly due to Metabolic Syndrome, but I read from others that a fast taper is not such a good idea.

I went from 5 mg to 2.5 mg a few weeks ago. Then down to 1.25. Dr says to just quit at this point.

So far, only side effect is headaches that I can control with advil. Am I on the right track?

I would listen to the pdoc. 1.25 seems like you have tapered down to a small dose and the next step your pdoc says is stop. They are the professional

If you get really bad side affects after quitting you can always tell them
