I've been sleeping in lately ever since I got off klonopin and lowered my doses of Geodon and Effexor. I sleep 10 hours on average sometimes I stay in bed longer like maybe an hour or two longer than 10 hours. Is it normal to sleep for so long when you're getting off of medication? I've been sick for 3 weeks too.

I would say that, yes, it is normal to feel fatigued during this time. I'm tapering off Geodon right now and while I have insomnia at first it later turns to fatigue. It should get better in time.

Being sick plus lowering psych meds could definitely be making you need more sleep. Some people say that needing more sleep means that you need the meds, but I am not convinced of that. If the meds increase the amount of seratonin then your body would make less. So it would also take a while for your body to resume making more seratonin when you quit taking the meds.

If it were me, I would just hold at the current amount until I felt well and was sleeping the right amount. Then try another decrease.
