I was on 180mg geodon, 225mg Effexor and 2mg klonopin. Now I'm on 60mg Geodon, 150mg Effexor and less than .25mg klonopin and my dry mouth has just gotten worse! My mouth hurts and half the time my mouth waters too much. My gums are bleeding and it's just really uncomfortable it's hard to talk. Is this normal? Is it going to go away? My doctor thinks I'm crazy and just making it up he says if my mouth was that dry my eyes would be popping out. Umm I'm sorry but I know when my mouth is dry I never thought dry mouth would be one of the worst side effects of taking medication and I thought it would get better but it's worse than ever.

Nope ,you're not crazy at all . a lot of medications can give you dry mouth , it's even listed in the side effects pamphlets or online.
I get dry mouth but i just suck on candies and try to stay hydrated.

I have severe dry mouth. It only got really bad when I added the Cogentin to my daily med cocktails. Otherwise, while I'm talking, my lips get stuck above my teeth and I can't pull my lips back down. I'm going to try biotene too. I actually bought a bottle in some year past, but I never did try it yet, and now it's packed someplace.
Thanks for this!

I, too, have extremely dry mouth from Cogentin. My teeth hurt and I'm very concerned about it. My eyes are also very dry and irritated. apples, I don't understand why your doctor is denying that your dry mouth is caused by meds.
Thanks for this!
