Hate it. Been on 150 2x/day since August 1. Tongue moving around in my mouth constantly, jaws clenching, anxious.

I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow, but will I be okay if I just stop today & tomorrow's dose altogether?

Hello Fifteen: Well... I'm not a mental health or a medical professional. I can't give you authoritative advice on this. But I've gone off a number of different psych med's in years past. Sometimes I just did it on my own. Sometimes I did it with my psychiatrist's advice. But either way I always tapered down gradually.

I personally can't recommend that you stop cold turkey. On the other hand, if you've only been taking this med since August 1st, that's a very short period of time. Going off cold turkey may work for you. It's probably one of those things that you won't know the answer to, for better or worse, until you try it. At least these are my thoughts with regard to your post.

From the FDA trileptal medication guide PDF
"Do not stop taking TRILEPTAL without talking to your healthcare provider. Stopping TRILEPTAL suddenly can cause serious problems, including seizures that will not stop (status epilepticus)."

Hope that helps!
