So I was thinking about getting off lithium entirely. I want to at least taper down first so I can see how it affects me. I had forgotten to take my meds for a day and a half and I felt so much more alive that it made me wonder why I donÂ’t feel better normally. Has anybody had a similar experience? Did you stick with your meds afterwards?

I don't take Lithium, but in my case, being off my meds leads to bad things, unfortunately. Not trying to give you advice though. Just sharing my own experiences. Hope you get lots and lots of responses to your post.

Hi. It's not clear that lithium has done anything for me, I've kept having my annual crisis, so my doc is slowly switching me to valproic. As Yaowen has said, being off my meds has also led to bad things, so at least I know I'll always depend on anti-psychotics... until they come up with something better, that is . Hope you find what works for you. Regards.
