After a good 12 year run, and all we could do for him, my beloved dog buddy had to be put to sleep yesterday. By far the hardest thing ever because he was really my son.

He was my best friend, i dont know what I will do without him. But at least his pain is gone.

RIP Buddy......life wont be the same without you.

((Cthomas)) - I'm so very sorry for the loss of your dog Buddy. I understand how a pet can be more than just an animal - they really do become members of our families. I know in your case it goes deeper because you don't have children, so Buddy accepted all the love you had to give. It's a very difficult decision you had to make, but the right one.

(((((((Cthomas)))))))) I am so, so sorry for the loss of Buddy. My heart really goes out to you. My dogs are my children and they mean the world to me. I have lost a beloved dog before and I really know how devastating it is. I'm glad that Buddy is at peace now and that he had a wonderful life with you, but I'm so very sorry for your pain.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss of your dog. They indeed become very special parts of our family. I too lost my first and only dog this summer and she was my baby as well. BIG HUGS to you. My therapist recommended that we have a little memorial for her and made a cross and put flowers and other trinkets where she is buried. Is there something you could do for yourself to help in your greiving process?
