this is just something i felt like writing, about a good good friend that we lost about 9 years ago when we were 20. Im not going to go into how he passed or why, i dont even know if it should go in grief and loss.
9 years on im not actively grieving, but i did and it will always be a loss. But this post is more about what i gained in knowing him. Maybe it will give others hope, because the dark times do fade and the memories of good times do remain. YOU Had the biggestest smile i have ever seen, it srunched your eyes up when you were happy. It was the grin of a much larger man, stuck on your little face and no one could resist smiling back at you. You were always a true friend, you gave me insights into the male mind asking nothing in return. You and your boat! The hours we spent out on the creek, all through the sunlight until it was dark. The wind whipping your hair back while you steered us home, i will always see this when i think of you. You were so funny such a goofball, how you hated it when id pick u up and swing you around. Not that it stopped me from doing it everytime i saw you. The big brotherly love you gave your sisters was so good to see, you would have been like that with your own children if given the chance. The times you called me just to hang out, to save you from being alone when you were down. I admired your honesty, it cemented our friendship. You grew more manly , showed off your muscles because we demanded that you did. But little you stayed. Your car, my first times of feeling like i belonged, one of the wild ones cruizing the streets. How i miss you now, im sorry you didnt come on this journey into adult hood with us. But i know your always there my friend. |

Well said! I know your friend hears those words and appreciates them, even though far away from the physical world!

It's so hard to lose a friend. I lost a few of my good friends and one of my best friends. Your friend is, and always will be with you. What you wrote is lovely, I'm sure he appriciates it.

((((((((((((disguise)))))))))------beautifully put. Knew you were a writer!--------wonderful tribute to your friendship........you touch me deeply, kiddo!!! I think of you often; not only because of Evie (got my car keys....), but because you are so modest, and almost childlike---I love that quality in people....I'm proud of you!You are a strong and beautiful young woman, and a great mom!!!xoxo-theo
