so, I got home from church today and Mom casually says "I think it's time to put our 17year old dog down." I've had him since I was 13 and the loss is heartbreaking. Especially after recently acknowledging all the other losses. I will miss him dearly................

So sorry to hear this. I'm assuming the dog is either suffering or has declined to the point where life is not what it was. This is always the hard part of loving an animal. Take your time with this.
