It doesn't matter where I go or where I am, my heart is still broken in a million pieces.
Jason my spirit and soul left me when you took your last breath. I see the world through a veil of darkness now that, you, the light of my life are dead and buried. My Beautiful, Beautiful Boy, the only child I bore and will know you are gone forever. So I walk this earth an empty shell, knowing there is nothing that will give me life again. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm the mother of an only child and it is my worst fear to lose her. I don't know how I could go on without her. My heart goes out to you.

This broke my heart. Because no parent should lose a child. My brother died last August, and my mom constantly says "how am I meant to live now? How am I meant to move forward?"
I did not lose a child. I lost a brother. And that pain, that lingering hollowness that follows you as though you lost a limb, is debilitating. I was so angry at the world, and I still am, that parents lose children. I have no wise words. I have what I've learned from losing my brother. They are physically gone. What they have left you with is love and memories. You know you gave him a happy life. You know you were the best mom you could be. And you made his life a happy one. I am so incredibly sorry. I wish I could make it better for mothers who have lost children. "While you're here, you are alive."
