Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I know there is Scripture that supports this ... God's creatures and their spirits... I am so distraught I can find any of them... but I'm sure others who have lost such a close pet also understand...and thank you for the post, ((Gem))

Wow, I didn't know I would get teary-eyed reading it too. I don't think I believe in heaven, but it's a nice thought. I miss my hamsters.

my "babygirl" was my best furry friend-- she helped me raise my sons--she was their best friend too and she kept me company at home when I was alone--- now, I'm just alone--
New Years Eve was her last day....

it's hard...... just went to the grocery store and didn't need to go down the dog food isle-- no jangling of collar tags throughout the house..... no happy "tail wagging" greeting when I get home.....

plus so many other upsetting things going on....... it's all too hard......

This song is very powerful and inspirational for whatever life hands both good or bad. After my dog and cat past away.....i was heart broken and crying uncontrolably.....I donated money in their memories to a local humane society for animals.

It is hell losing a fuzzy friend!

when I went to the special store for dog food last week...before I put my Figaro down... they weren't carrying HIS food anymore! I should have known then? He's so allergic...I bought a big bag of a new kind... but he wasn't eating much anyway... IDK nothing went right

I can't bear the idea that I will never see my Figaro again! He HAS to be somewhere okay.
