My grandmother died. Most people would get sentimental, but, instead, I'll tell you what she taught me to appreciate. Chuck Norris movies. Kung Fu flicks. Stephen King Novels. Horror movies. Movies where the little guy found the big guy's weakness and exploited it and used it to save the day. Jiffy Pop. Tom Clancy novels. In college, I would stop by after classes and clean and do her shopping. When I drove coast to coast for Swift Transportation, I sent her post cards. We were friends, not just family. 1912-2014

I am so sorry for your loss. I am a grandmother and I sit here watching my grandson watch Daniel Tiger's neighborhood and wondering how his life will be. I hope I can be here for a lot of it. I'm sure she loved you dearly and is watching you from Heaven. Make her proud. Big hug for you!
Thanks for this!

I am sorry for your great loss...sounds like she was an awesome person. I am glad you decided to write about her and the things she taught you to appreciate, because it is those things that will stay with you forever. Hold on to them as you remember her.

HUGS!
Thanks for this!

I'm sorry for your loss. My precious grandma is now 86 years old and living on borrowed time. I dread losing her.
