My significant other's mother died, and he was highly attached to her. If anyone tries to support him, he pushes them away and tells them that they are not his mother and that they will never understand him. Basically his identity died, when she died. How do I help him cope? What are things I can do or say, before he falls into an unhealthy spiral of depression and never gets out of it? I'm scared his negative behavior of dealing with this will ruin all aspects of his life. Plz how do I help him?
