Even though my cat died three years ago, I still miss him. He was a beautiful ruddy Abysinnian, and he was the most outgoing, friendly cat I have ever known. He would walk right up to strangers and say, "Hey! How's it going Stranger?" He took naps lying on my chest while I took a nap, too. I tried to find a new cat to replace him once he died, but this new cat had a different personality, and I tried a different breed-Bengal-but I missed the Aby look and personality. So a few months ago, I bought another kitten--an Aby again. She has a different personality, too, but she is also very loving. And she looks similarly. I really miss my cat: he lived with me for 17 years when I transitioned from my 20s to my 40s. He traveled cross-country with me. He was my best buddy.

Losing a pet is really hard. My dog died just over 2 years a go and I still miss him terribly.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost many pets over the years, and every loss is hell. I had one cat in particular who was my soul sister...she died five years ago and my heart still aches for her. I have other cats, though, and love them. They are so special in their own ways, and that does make the previous losses a little bit less painful.

Can't replace a pet. I recently lost a kitten, and I'll never get over it.

Thanks for your note. I also love my new kitten/cat, but I also miss my older male Aby cat, Leonardo. I wish I had more to remember him by. I am glad to hear you have found some solace for your loss by adopting other cats.
