I got a puppy when i was 6 his name was pocco and he was just a baby. he is a chiuhuhua. He died friday at 8pm at 14 years old. he was like a little brother that i spoiled and loved more then anything or anyone in this world. He was always their for me and i was always their for him. Everytime i think about him being dead i just can't believe it. I always felt like he would live forever. He was in Pa. i unfortunately moved to NV a few years ago because of my husbands stupid job. he was living with my mother. i wish i could have kissed him goodbye. poor thing.

so sorry about your dog. I know there's really nothing I can say... pets can mean so much to you.... its like losing a close family member. I'm glad that you go to enjoy pocco for so long, I'm sure that although you couldn't say goodbye which is the hardest part, he knows you love him. I'm sure you were there for him just like he was there for you.

I'm terribly sorry. I've had many pets in my life... most were animals with short life spans anyway (rats and lizards and frogs) but whether they are with you for 2 years or 20 it always hurts. They are family. I actually had a gecko who should have lived 7 to 10 years and I ended up having her for 14... when I was little she was like my best friend...
Whenever I lose a pet this little poem helps. I hope you enjoy it...

--Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
