two weeks ago, one of my two pets died. and to me, my pets are MY family -> i see them every day and talk with/to them, and they even get serenaded to by my singing!

this is the 6th loss in 27 months for me! four were my pets, plus my Grandmother and my Aunt (who was my best-friend).

and i'm just really struggling with things. i was in shock for a while - maybe still am a bit. i'm trying to make sure my other pet, that he eats, while at the same time trying to make sure that i do as well. there are days i just try to eat anything, doesn't matter what it is- just get something in me. [i have low bp so i have to be very careful] so the one day my meal was a yogurt cup and some bacon strips! (believe me, i know how that sounds)

i know it's just the grief but i'm struggling :'(

Hi @jrae - I am so sorry to hear you have had so many losses in such a short time. It must be rough to keep knowing they are gone.

I have had to reinvent my life since my losses. It is not easy starting over but it has made life more tolerable.

Some people I know always have 2 pets so if one dies they have another. Usually one is young and the other old.

I hope you can keep eating. I eat every 3 hours with a low carb high protein snack or meal and it helps my mood stay more stable to. Have you considered a grief counselor or a grief support group. There are online ones in you cannot do in person ones in your area.

Grief does that to a person. Even if it animal. It takes time to heal.

There are resources here in terms of articles.
How to Cope with Tragedy and Loss

Sudden Death of Loved One Can Trigger Psychiatric Disorders

Coping with Grief | Psych Central

There is also Ask the Therapist

And there is a sponsored website that offers therapy https://betterhelp.go2cloud.org/aff_...6&source=forum I do not know what their rates are for therapy.

You might also google to see if there are support groups in your area that deal with grief or contact local hospitals or your insurance company. Hospitals in my area offer 8 week courses in grief. With Covid19, not sure how those are available.
