Today has been a very bad day. On 6/4/20 We had to put down my tiny male chihuahua , Jose. The week before our neighbors pitbull was here, and he bit Jose in his back. A few days later Jose was having bad lung problems and we took him to a vet and he had to be put down . Then we buried him in our yard. A few days later our neighbor got a new puppy to keep his adult pitbull company. I had been feeding both of the neighbors dogs, gave the puppy hook worm medicine and flea and tick medicine. Today his dogs dug Jose up and was eating him. Now I am having a much harder time about Jose, then I did when we took him to the vet. I can't stop seeing Jose being eaten by the pits.

I remember when I was a child and had a pet yorkshire terrier

getting a call from the vet 1 afternoon during dinner, sorry, roxy (the yorkshire terrier) didn't make it

it was so sad, what some people don't realise is that pets are just as much as part of the family as humans are, and to me, it was hard to process (for weeks after I could hear her bark, or I thought I heard it)

my sister has also lost a pet mouse and she was devistated, she actually buried the mouse at the seaside, and for weeks after would go and see it

sorry about your doggy

katydid777 I am really sorry about the loss of your dog Jose. Hugs

It may not help now, but when my yorkie died he was wrapped in a plastic storage bag that was sealed. That and burying deep seemed to avoid the problems you had.

I'm so sorry you lost Jose as well as for what occurred afterward. We just lost our beloved Schnoodle, Joey, yesterday after 14 years. We estimate he was around 16 or 17 years old. Plus he had kidney disease. I have yet to stop crying every time I think of him.

I'm sorry about Jose. When my sheltie died, my husband built a wooden box to bury her in.

Pitt bulls? I wouldn't want them in my yard again under the circumstances. No wonder little Jose was at a disadvantage. Do the neighbors know what happened? I'd at least tell them.

I am so, so sorry. What a very painful loss. And as if losing a pet isn't awful enough, you had to go through another trauma. My heart goes out to you, katydid. Be kind and gentle with yourself

Oh no Skeezyks. I am so sorry for your loss of Joey. He must have been a wonderful friend.

I'm sorry to hear that about your Chihuahua. Did you ask your neighbor to pay for the vet visit bill since their dog attack your dog?

I'm so sorry to hear you lost your dog twice - once from being bitten from a dog next door and the second time from being attacked by pitbulls. I'm sure you have fond memories of Jose. May the hugs and pleasant memories help sustain you through this difficult time.
