Yesterday evening I found out my maternal grandma’s health is not going well.
Hospice has been called in. I went to visit her yesterday and today. I’m still processing my feelings, thoughts and my emotions. I’m so tired of losing family. @Cocosurviving I am sorry for your losses. That must make life rough for you.
I think most of us have lost more people than we can remember from the past. These are difficult times we live in. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

So I thought I could just tackle this grief alone but I am not so sure.
I lost one of my best friends in 2020. She was in her mid 30's and had 4 children. I feel guilty of not being there more. I feel guilty because I am not in a mental of physical position to be there for them. I am angry with her for leaving. I am angry at the people who let things get so bad and not tell me till she died. I find myself crying about her, to her, asking her to visit her in my dreams. I don't understand the stages of grief. I am just hurting and angry. Will I always feel this pain? What are the stages of grief and can I push through each one myself? Just time? MissCrazy - grief is personal and not linear. Sometimes you’ll go through a stage, only to circle back to it later. It’s better to lean on supportive friends and family if you’re able, than face it alone, in any case. Everything you’re feeling right now is normal, and it is tough, so be kind to yourself. It sounds like you’re still doing what you can.

@MissCrazy I am sorry for your loss. Grief does come in many stages and guilt is one of them I have experienced. If you want to read more about the stages, there is more about them here.
The way I have worked through grief alone is not always the fastest way. A therapist or support group can be a big help. If going it alone a gratitude journal can help. What are the experiences I shared with the person I lost? How did they help me? What did I do to try to help them? Even the littlest thing like a phone call or a note or even positive thoughts are all worthy of mention. Exercises help me with grief and depression so I do yoga with Adrienne Complete Beginners yoga and 5 minute Tai Chi, both free on youtube. I also find mindfulness and the loving compassion meditation to help as well. Here are some short ones Joan Borysenko Loving kindness meditation for peace and happiness - Monday Meditations Loving kindness meditation for peace and happiness - Monday Meditations - YouTube Very Relaxing Loving Kindness Meditation The Medical City Loving Kindness Meditation - YouTube This is only 5 minutes and has goood spacing It also avoids the problem of sending kindness to those we have difficulties with We also can do a 5 minute video as well 8 minutes relaxing voice Guided meditation - Loving kindness Guided meditation - Loving kindness - YouTube what I like is she asks us to Notice rather than do something hope you get the support you are looking for @CANDC __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

I don’t ascribe to a lot of dominant society social norms, beliefs, gender norms or expectations… I find it offensive when advised to “get over” the loss of a loved one. I don’t feel or ascribe to grief having a time period. I view journaling, blogging and posting on forums the same. I post on here and chronic illnesses Facebook groups, to process my thoughts , frustrations, brainstorm, brain dump and to laugh. I’m not able to really enjoy nice weather because of pollen etc. I’ve been coloring, sewing and knitting. @Cocosurviving thanks for sharing what you are going through. That is part of what the forums do for me too.
