Dealing with grief, loss, sadness, emptiness is something I'm somewhat accustomed to, due to my job.
In a weird way, I'm happy I don't, but good god I wish I could put up the "wall" that I use while working, when it's a colleague. Distancing myself from the pain and trauma that others feel is something of a skill that I've developed over nearly a decade, and it doesn't work in any way shape or form for someone close. I'm missing them already, and it's only been half a day. I feel awful that when I think of their partner and daughter, I feel nothing but emptiness.. I don't usually run out of empathy for others. __________________ "And right here is where we store our sanity. As you can see, it's currently missing" |

@ACQPL I am sorry to hear of the losses you feel. It must be so difficult.
I find grief support groups help me deal with the death of my dad. Hope you find the support you are looking for to find a way through grief. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

Unfortunately I am in a position where the only social or other interactions I have is at work.. In the UK my options are somewhat limited at the moment, and I am very much a people person.. Speaking on video calls etc doesn't really cut it for me from an emotional standpoint.. It's probably why I'm more worried about the next few days and weeks than I otherwise would be.
I've been googling for some sort of compromise, but honestly I'm mostly just overwhelmed at the moment and struggling to work something out. __________________ "And right here is where we store our sanity. As you can see, it's currently missing" |
