3 years ago my dad passed and it seems like it was only 2 years ago. Maybe it’s due to the pandemic and time seems to have stopped. I wanted to go to grief counseling or support group for grief, but never did. It’s just difficult to deal with with everything that’s gone on past few years. My uncle passed away less than 2 months after my dad, and my aunt passed less than 2 years later. How do I deal with this and my grandparents lived so much longer than my dad, uncle and aunt. It does make me want to be a better person or do something to make my dad proud. I want to travel to every country my dad traveled for business trips. My dad lived the heck out of life and did not waste his time.

I am sorry for your loss. Whatever you do decide to do in life, try doing it for yourself. It makes letting go easier, although it is never is easier when I lost my dad. I try to bring to mind something he did for me every day and let gratitude fill me and sometimes tears. Grieving is a long process. Every new loss seems to open up the well of grief.

Zapatoes, first of all it is never a good idea to compare yourself to anyone else. And second, doing all the things your dad did or doing something that makes him proud.
He's gone. You're not. Live your best life. Not his. I am sorry you have to experience loss, but it is a part of life. We all take our turn. So, to have a life feel complete I do not think it is full of comparisons or looking back at what is gone. Best of everything to you! Atargatis |
