Hi everyone,
It is a sad time for me. Next week is the one year anniversary of mother's death.

I think of calling her once in a while to share something I experienced, then I realize she is gone. I woke up the other day thinking they are really gone and are not coming back. I thought I was totally over that but parts of me just keep hanging on to the past.

Thanks for listening.

I'm so sorry you lost her CANDC, and I hope that you know that your grief is totally normal, however you experience it. I hang on to the past all the time. I'm still not over those I've lost, and life somehow keeps moving forward even though sometimes I feel I don't. Hugs and love. You work wonders on this site, and I know I am grateful you are in this world, even if there are parts of you that feel maybe missing or lost.. Take care, and self care this next week. Keep checking in.

Luv,

Marilyn

That’s understandable. My mum was almost 95 when she passed a year and two months ago. I just dreamed about her last night. I still miss her. Mum’s are a central part of our lives.

I have just passed the two year anniversary of my mum passing a couple of months back. I am very sorry @CANDC, that is really something so terrible. In the other year I wish I had learned something I could tell you that makes it easier. I am yet to get over it and don't know that I will, I am right now sitting in the room that was hers. Her presence is still here, and what I mean by that is not something supernatural. It is just the way the way things smell and everyplace I look I see her. As Einstein put it, "Without the past there could be no present or future." Real ghosts live in our minds and memories, maybe even more importantly our hearts. I think there are some things that never leave us. It isn't always such a bad thing as it provides connection for us. If I were there I would give you a hug, so sorry.

@16PennyNail sorry for the loss of your mom. It is so difficult to get over feelings of holding onto memories. I thank you for your kind words of comfort.
