For some reason today I am very sad.. nothing in particular has brought these feelings up - except maybe the hug from my little brother and him telling me how much he loves me. When he does this it brings tears to my eyes, he means so much to me and is all I have left in this world.
I feel like crying. I miss my siblings.. I even miss my mother - even though she was abusive. Feeling very alone with a heavy heart.. Em |

He is so precious, Em. You are so very lucky to be with him.
I wish I had a little brother or sister. I would hope to care for and be cared by them like you and your little one do for each other. How has he taken all that the family has been through? The day will get better Em. Have any pets? |

Fried - I only discovered he existed 3 years ago.
He was adopted out at birth by my aunt - we have the same father. Slowly he has discovered his other siblings - my other brother and I didn't want to wade right in there and tell him everything - we felt he was too young to understand, and wanted to protect him as much as we could from it all. He is 9 now and has grown up fast with all that has happened. I am presently in a horrible custody battle for him and do have temporary custody at the moment.. I don't intend to give him up without a fight. He asks me questions about his other brothers and sisters, and I tell him as much as I can - he is so much like them, its hard for me at times, but also very comforting. I have a wonderful therapist and good support network, I owe my life to them. Pets? LOL - I have 3 (large dogs) and 5 cats.. oh and then there is the hedgehog that visits seasonally... pets are very comforting, very loving and nurturing.. |

Do you ever sound like one extraordinarily special person! Can I add my wishes that things eventually turn out EXACTLY the way you want them too--that you get permanent custody of your young brother and that you and he and anyone else you'd like in your corner all get through this and come out at the other end feeling great, wonderful and so, so hopeful about the future.
--seems to me that already you have a good deal going for you in terms of your own caring character. Little wonder that your little brother loves you so very much. Still, you have every right to allow sadness into your heart but I do so hope that your undaunting spirit will rise up to put that sadness in its place and render it only a casual visitor in your life. |
