Jim and I celebrated the 20th anniversary of our first date on Feb.5 of this year. We'd been engaged back in the late 80s, but ended the engagement for whatever reasons.

We stayed friends over the years. When my father passed away May 17, 2003 Jim was there for me. He and I used to talk on the phone every night for at least an hour. Last December we decided to get engaged again. The chances we would get married were small but we were totally devoted to one another. We swore devotion forever.

Jim died very unexpectedly May 14 of this year.

I am lost. Have been since May. I have no one to talk to like I talked with Jim. He knew me almost as well as I know myself. He did everything in his power to make me happy. (he kept notes on my favorite salad dressings at certain restaurants) He kept me supplied with sodas and cigarettes. He made sure I had enough frozen dinners for work.

The reason I'm posting this is because last year at this time, Jim and I were shopping for an engagement ring.

I miss my sweet, sweet Jim
