To you, my mom whom I miss so very much. I post this today as I know that tomorrow my mind will keep me from sadness by not thinking about that day I lost you. It happens every year.....I think of you before and I think of you after the date....strange how our minds work to protect us isn't it?

Sixty years young...taken too soon from so many. I miss your laugh, I miss your scowling, I miss your never ending logical mind that used to drive me to the brink of madness when all I could do was feel emotion and not think logical. I hope you are proud of me for working so hard to feel the emotion yet act with forethought as you always seemed to do so easily.

Although I know my brother was your favorite, I do know that you loved me. I know that you did the best you could with a child who was emotionally charged. I'm sure I pushed you to the edge a few times and for that I apologize.

Thank you mom for giving me life, for giving me manners, for giving me love, for giving and teaching compassion, for showing me how to fight for what's good and right and for showing me you can hold your head high through the most difficult of battles, even when one doesn't win them....there is always a positive that can be drawn from the negative, for teaching me fairness.

I miss you mom, aka: Cookie Monster - the holidays are coming again and I can't wait to make all those wonderful treats like you used to do. The warmth of the kitchen during the cold winter months, the smell of the tasty cookies you always made...tons and tons of them..mmmmmmm good!! Of course, my fav being the Scotch Shortbread cookies that just melt in your mouth.....it took me years but I finally got the recipe down and I can make them just like you did

Our moms sound so much alike. I'm so sorry that she was taken from you. But so happy you can remember her with a wealth of wonderful memories. Thats what is most important. I'll be thinking of you my dear friend.
