Mom,
This is the first Thanksgiving without you. The family did not get together, there was no big shindig, there were a few calls here and there to others, but overall....it was not the same. K and I made some 'turkey and gravy' from a box sort of thing (the consistency was like SPAM..stop laughing, I don't cook like you! LOL), mashed potatoes, stove top stuffing, corn and biscuits. I miss YOUR stuffing, YOUR juicy turkey, YOUR homemade gravy and I miss....YOU! A. worked to try to keep her mind off of you, but it didn't work. She called and told me she was depressed all day. T went to a friends house with her hubby, L and J spent the day with their BF and GF and the other grand kids....well....they were with their dad. Dad didn't want Thanksgiving nor does he want X-mas at the house. I know you would be disappointed, but I don't think he can bear doing it without you. He said he was going to his brothers' for turkey. I told him I would bring him food, but he didn't want me to. I have your picture on the fridge, did you hear me tell you Happy Thanksgiving this morning? Are you disappointed that we had Pumpkin cheesecake instead of pumpkin pie? I know you loved pumpkin pie. I miss you! I love you! Love, 'your favorite', (I know, my sisters would kill me for saying that!)
