I am so glad I decided to go to the dermatologist today. I have been itching for a long time and decided to go ahead and go back to her and thought I'll mention to her the bumps behind my ear and have her look at them. Turns out I have shingles. Just the one little cluster of them but it is quite painful and so she gave me some meds for the pain and some meds to get rid of them. She said not to be too surprised if they pop up somewhere else on my body. My Grandma had them several years ago and I remember how she said they were painful and now I can relate.

I am a bit concerned now that they might have spread to my shoulder area because I was talking to my mom tonight and she told me that one of the symptoms I'm having in my shoulder could mean that they have spread to my shoulder. She has a friend that currently has them all down her arm and they started in her shoulder area and then went down her arm. It started like she thought she had pulled a muscle in her shoulder and then 2 weeks later the blisters started and her arm swelled up so much that she couldn't even get dressed without help. Well right now the muscle in my shoulder hurts really bad like it has been pulled apart with a taffy pulling machine and so mom thinks that they might have spread to my shoulder area so hopefully if this has happened the meds I am taking now will prevent it from going to far.

Uugh, I hate shingles! I first had them at age 33. They were under my hair in the back of head on the left sisde. It was horrible, scabs and all kinds of ickies. I then had them again 7 years later, on the right side of my face and neck. Burning and itching and red as a lobster!!! The steroid cream helped alot. It did take several months for mine to clear up

I hope you feel better soon!!!

(((jbug))) hope you feel better soon,. It takes time . I had them when i was in my 6mth of my sons Pregnancy. I could not take anything it was summer . man it was hard. I remember before they came out i had pain on my side for about 2 weeks they thought I had Pleurisy. I can remember sitting at the kitchen table in the morning waiting for the pain to let go some. of course pain was only on one side as thats the side the shingles came out on. My thoughts are with you as I and many others feel for you
My son and daughter never got the chicken poxs BTW LOLOLOLOLOL
they thought maybe my son had them along with me .

I still feel a little guilty telling the doctor to give my husband the shot for them (you have to be over 60) :-) Since I'm only 58 I have a couple years but I didn't want to get them or something and have him get them bad from nursing me, LOL.
