This is my 3rd respiratory infection in 2 1/2 months. It's upper and lower. I have finally figured out what's causing it. My Mom's house had mold in it. I am allergic to mold.

I have some other health issues going on that have weakened my immune system, so every time I go to see Mom, I get sick by the next day.

Since I have ulcerative colitis, I am very prone to C-Diff infections and I can only take antibiotics on an emergency basis. I've had three z-packs and a huge shot of rocephin in the last couple months. They have to give me another really strong medicine, called xifaxin to keep me from catching C Diff. I can't afford to become immune to it because it literally saves my life.

I'm also taking Coricidin Flu HPB, but one tablet puts me to sleep or makes me so groggy I am useless for a while. Other people might say I'm useless all the time.

I have to have some surgery and invasive tests soon and I can't seem to stay healthy enough to do it. They won't ok me for surgery unless I have no infection. I have to have a cardiac workup and they can't finish it.

Worst of all, I can't go see my Mom and she's dying. I can call her, but she doesn't remember and she wants to see me, but I can't go there.

I am very sorry this is happening. Maybe you can move your mom into your house with help from hospice?

January, so sorry you're having such a hard time right now. You are in my thoughts and prayers as well as your mom.

((((((((( Friends ))))))))

Thank you so much for replying to my post. I appreciate each and every one of you and your kind words.

My niece has moved in with my Mom and she and my brother are in charge of taking care of her. Mom can't be around me because of the respiratory infections I have right now, so she can't come here and with the impending surgery, I wouldn't be able to be in charge of anything. Thanks for the idea though.
