I have been working with the elderly for 5 weeks
Part of what I have had to do is open tins
because of their arthritis.

But the pain in my leg and hip from
Arthritis is making me wonder if I
should've taken on the job.

I have taken glucosamine chondroitin
but end up with a pain in my side
like appendicitis.
Crumbs...I know I can be a bit hypochondriac
but I am suffering and in pain.

Had to have a whinge..
lots of love to anyone in pain out there....Jjulia

I've had this kind of thing on my mind too. But the only way I can look at it is that I have to try else I'll never know if I can manage. Also, if that's what you want to do and the only job available for you at least you are trying.

You can always ask for help, see if anyone has any ways of making it easier on your body, I don't know if there will be anything, but it's worth a shot.

If it comes down to it, perhaps you could see if there is another job within the company like something in the office that puts less stress on your body. Or you could mention your concerns to your doctor and see if you can get some help managing your pain. I certainly wouldn't regret taking the job, there is no harm in trying.
Thanks for this!

Have you tried adding Flax Seed Oil Pill to the mix? - and taking three Advils when the pain hits.

Are you taking any arthritis Rx from your doctor?
Thanks for this!

The person who even came up with the word hypocondriach did not suffer from chronic pain of any kind. Here is to hoping you have more good days than bad. You have to take care of you before you can take care of anybody else.
Thanks for this!

Depending on what is going on with your body, my doc tells me to stretch daily for my osteoarthritis. When I'm in pain, and do stretching, it really does help my achs and pains.

Good luck, and I'm happy for you that you have a job.

You used the word 'tins" are you living in England? and do you mean using a can opener that you twist by hand? Perhaps there is a chance you could get the people you take care of to buy an electric can opener?
Thanks for this!

We say TINS in Australia too. Thanks Beholden.
One new lady I take care of is 102 years old. I feel
proud to be able to care for her. The job is
getting better. I found out I had BURSITIS too
and got a steroid shot for it.
(((HUGS)))) for anyone out there in pain.
