I found out I am allergic to cranberries now.

I went to a church dinner with my parents the Sunday before Thanksgiving and ate some cranberry sauce that wasn't like the kind I normally eat and immediately broke out in hives so we thought ok it is just that kind don't eat that again. So Thanksgiving comes and I eat the cranberry sauce which was the whole berry kind not the jelly kind and bam I broke out again right away. Good thing this time mom had her purse with her and was able to give me some Benadryl. Yesterday I stopped off at a convience store to pick me up a pack of smokes and some juice and thought what I had grabbed was a bottle of grape juice and took a swig of it and thought this tastes like cranberry grape and looked and sure enough. Soon after I broke out.

I am very bummed out about this because I love cranberries. They are my favorite juice and I could eat a can of the sauce all year round. My Aunt makes this killer salad with them in it with nuts and whipped topping. I am wondering if you could substitute strawberries for the cranberries in the salad.

My cousin Julie is a allergic to cranberries also so we both wont be eating the cranberries at Christmas.
