I have been having a lot of health problems recently. One of them is my gallbladder. Someone told me that your gallbladder regenerates itself and you can do a detox and start treating it better instead of having surgery. I really don't want to have surgery. Just wondering had anyone did a detox before?

I think it is about helping reduce the size of the stones so they are less likely to cause problems requiring surgery
> Most gallstones are composed of cholesterol, and diet plays a role in their formation. You can try to prevent problems with them and thus forestall surgery with these dietary steps: > Reduce your fat intake to 25 percent of daily calories. Restrict dietary cholesterol consumption to no more than 300 mg daily. > Limit your intake of sugar, which may promote gallstone formation. > Increase your fiber intake, and substitute soy protein for animal protein in your diet. > Women should consider taking 500-700 mg of calcium, which binds bile acids and decreases the risk of stone formation. http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/id/QAA309119 - sorry, just realized that you didn't specify that your problem was stones... http://www.gallbladderattack.com/gal...verflush.shtml I'd check with your doc first, though. |

When I was repeatedly sick from the gallbladder and had an ultrasound done, finding a large stone, my doctor told me that it meant the gallbladder was not working.
I had a very simple outpatient surgery and felt so good the following day, I was cleaning house. I've never heard of the gallbladder fixing itself. I hope you will consult a doctor to talk more about this. There are serious and even fatal consequenses of gallbladder disease, rupture, etc. |

Thanks for the replies. I'm not going to do anything without my doctor's okay. If he agrees to let me try the detox, I will. All the detoxes have read so far say to do under a physician's care. I was just curious. I would love to rid my body of all the impurities. I am tired of being sick.

maybe try the low saturated (animal) fat / sugar / high fibre diet as a way of detox? can't hurt (is good for you in many respects even if it doesn't end up helping with this in particular)

I good Liver Cleanse and a Change in Diet is the way I would go after seeing your doctor to make sure every thing else is in good working order.

I changed my diet and way of eating. It really helped. The pain has really lessen and I can control the nausea. I feel better and I am losing weight which is good. My husband and mother are doing the same thing and they feel better, also. It really helps to eat right.
