Hello,
I've posted on another board about my niece and her lead poisoning. My 6 year old niece has autism and ingested some lead from the home. They were unaware that the home they had purchased had lead. She had been at level 34 out of level 35 (being brain damage leading to death.) The health department gave them exactly 2 weeks to remove the lead from the home, which has been very difficult. My niece may be getting worse now (lead wise) she will not eat anything and lays in a fetal position. She's in the hospital right now, they're waiting on results from the x-rays and hoping she'll be okay. I'm not sure why I'm posting this, maybe to clear my mind a little... we're all hoping she'll pull through....
Has anyone else had to deal with lead poisoning in a child? If so, if it gets to this point, will she be okay?
Thank you.

I know pretty much nothing about lead poisoning, but I do know people (especially kids it seems) can get through pretty bad stuff and be ok.

Thank you everyone for your nice replies.
She was in the hospital all night and they did some tests and haven't found anything wrong yet, she has to wait 2 more days for a response.
A news article was written to help get support from her community to get the house done, if your interested:
