I heard that you can take this for menstrual problems. Has anyone ever used it? Mine are pretty severe, and I'm reluctant to go on the Pill before trying something more natural.

YES! I can't take most medicines. So I relied upon this to get me through my peri symptoms. Depending upon how severe any symptoms are, take up to 4 Grams a day.

EPO, blue cohosh, (black cohosh if over 50)

Iron, vitamin C, thiamin (all contained in yellowdock btw) are important too.

Cinnamon helps regulate as well.

Sage also helps with night sweats.

Dr Weil suggests chasteberry, damiana, dang gui (tang quai) for hot flashes and such miserable symptoms.

For cramping and the like, try boosting your calcium, use rosemary, valerian, viburnum... dandelion and burdock.

There are so many herbal remedies that really work for just about what ails us.

And, as you know (we all know but need to be reminded) drink water!

feel better.

Primrose has been my constant for about 25 years. No matter if I could not really afford it at times I would go without something else to keep it in my diet. I still have it. It is not a birth control thing though, that would be another type of med.

I will need something for the night sweats though which have crept in again after not having them for about 5 years. hrumph! I'll write down this list from JD and see if I can find them.

Wow, thanks for the advice! I am going to buy some evening primrose oil today. Do you take it every day, or only the week before your period begins? Thanks again!!

I take it daily the week before, during the period, and a day or two after; the doc says it helps inhibit prostaglandin hormones to lessen cramping and night sweats, and for me it helps a bit with moodiness during this time.
