I figure maybe someone can help me out here. I've noticed of late, I'm getting butterflies on a regular basis. Its driving me mad. I think it might relate to my depression. Maybe, because I feel so insignificant, and like things are crashing down around me, that it makes me feel sick to my stomach. I don't know if thats possible, or if it could just be something else. I have been eating more than usual, however, I don't feel like I want to throw up. Its so strange, so any insight or thoughts would be nice, thank you.

I know this may sound goofy but could you be pregnant? that is what if feels like when a baby first starts moving. if your appetite is good and you are not sick I would be inclined to think pregnant

I've not talked to a doctor as yet. And Bebop, unfortunately, theres two main issues with that theory. I've never had sex, and well, I'm male, lol.

Sorry, I didn't think to point out my gender, how silly of me.

((Bluesummers)) lol, and glad that it isn't pregnancy

Depression can include physical symptoms. Related anxiety can too.
What is it like when you get butterflies that drive you mad? Is it like nervousness, or nausea, or... ?

(( Echoes )) Thank you, I'm glad to know it too. I'm not ready for a child just yet. lol

I'll try and answer your question. Its like a nausea I'd say. I might just be feeling down or whatever, but my stomach will be all butterflies, and it drives me up the wall. I'm sat there thinking, whats up with that? I can't rule out that I'm subconsusly(can't spell that word), worried about something though. I hope that makes sense. Its just such a strange thing, and I've not come across it before like this.

I think I know what you mean.. like a gnawing kind of feeling, but not exactly nausea?

Are you considering seeing a doctor? Some things, like ulcers or reflux, can have symptoms like this.

Does it go away if you eat something? If this is strictly physical, I wonder if eating smaller, more frequent meals might help, or having a snack.

Or, maybe some meditation when it occurs would shed some light on what might be on your mind, but hidden from your conciousness. Possibly sitting quietly for a while (and doing breathing exercises, if you do that) would help bring up the thought/worry.

What do you think?

Yes, I was thinking indigestion or reflux too; have you tried an antacid or anything to see if it helped? I like Echoes idea of smaller meals too, and paying more attention to what you are eating in case there's something in there that could be the culprit either alone or cumulative over time (lactose sensitivity, for example).
