over a week ago, i got this pea sized lump on my outer... labia... its gotten bigger and more painful i cant even touch it with my finger otherwise i get like a pain scale of 10!!!!! im wondering if it started out as an ingrown hair cause there are a few hairs there, but if it is, its really infected or something. ive also looked up vulvar cancer online... something i probably shouldn't have done but oh well. i'm just worried about it and felt like ranting about it here.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think if you can you should see a nurse at your GP surgery to get it checked. Most likely to just reassure you. In the mean time, or if that feels to difficult, put a warm damp cloth/bit of towel (or something similar) on it and hold it there a while. It'll help draw anything out that it stuck. Don't put any chemicals on it, unless they are for the purpose though, else you could end up with an infection. Could be an ingrown hair, some sort of spot or something like that, and probably nothing to worry about. Also try not to touch it too much and keep it clean.

well i actually found out it is not an ingrown hair cause i don't shave down there and the reason an ingrown hair happens is when you shave and the hair grows back but all messed up, and ingrown.

so then what the heck is it!!

Maybe it's an abscess. Try soaking in a tub with salt water. Fill the tub up just enough so it covers that area.

Hi krisakira. I'm sorry you're in so much pain. My friend developed a cyst there and it needed to be removed. Obviously, you may have something completely different, but you definitely need to get it checked out. Can you not get an appointment sooner than Monday? At Urgent Care? Really hope you can get this taken care of soon.

TMI warning

I had something similar once. Honestly it looked kinda like a big whitehead/pimple. OMG was it sore! I was out of town at a conference and NO way going to that kind of Dr in a strange place knowing that all I could do was call T but not see her. I kept the area very clean and well to be honest I think it poped (NOT intentional!)... I was walking, all of a suddon it hurt even more than usual and then just a little sore. By the time I got to the ladies room it just looked red and irritated. Went to the Dr when I got home... She checked me out for anything harmful and found nothing. Seeing as it was gone she could not tell for sure what it might have been. but she did ramble off some "normal" rasons why that could happen... Now that I knew I wasn't dying however the adrenalin was gone and well I was a mess... But a physically healthy mess.
I know it doesn't ease the pain but I hope it eases the fears.
Just FYI, a lot of baby wipes have alcohol in them and sting so I went back and bought the (much more expensive) ones made for women and they were more comfortable. When I could I took shallow, hot baths with epsoms salts to keep it clean without having to touch it and it did help a lot.

OK, this may help
http://www.soulcysters.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/001892.html
it is a thread in a womens health type forum not medical help so... be careful. If you click the first link there is a pic but there are others there that may be triggering.

They say it is just some kind of clogged gland.

Its usually a hair root thats clogged up or a gland its painful but if you leave it alone it goes away by itself it pops or just dries up, If you are really worried go see a doctor.

It sounds like a harmless cyst or a Herpes. I'm glad you will be able to know what it is and get some releif soon.

thanks everyone for your replies. the thing im confused about most is that it does NOT have a white head or look like a pimple. so it cant be whatever that is. ive had that before and it pops within days and goes away. anyway, we will just have to wait to see what the doctor says. hopefully the doc will listen to me and examine it before assuming its something it is not. (ive had that happen before with other things)
