Hi everyone,

I have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy and haven't had a seizure in over a year. It is being controlled with Tegretol.

That being said, sometimes I get sensations and I swear that I'm about to have a seizure. For example, today I felt a tingly/warm sensation in my head, towards the top close to the skull. My surroundings looked a bit odd, so I panicked a bit and then braced myself for a possible seizure. It didn't happen, fortunately. But has anyone gotten those "signs" but it never happened? Should this be a concern, or is it normal?
Hugs from:

hi, melissa -

i have epilepsy. generally, an aura sensation indicates that a seizure is coming on. i suggest you speak with your MD about your symptoms as it might be something else. also, check the side-effects of your medication, Tegretol. Please keep us informed. All the best to you.
