Well, I had my first mammogram done. It wasn't so scary. But now I have to go back to get an ultrasound. I called my doctor and he told me. But the hospital is supposed to contact me with a letter, so I'm waiting for that. Doctor said if I don't hear from them, he will set it up for me. I do feel something in my left breast. I understand it could be a simple cyst or something. I wonder if I should just call the doctor and tell him to set me up. I want this test done soon.

This being your first one makes it tougher to decide what it could be.. since there is no baseline to compare it to... hope it all works out ok! TC woman health

Thank you Sleeps and Sky.

I'm going in next Thursday. I talked to a lady and her sister at work who each had some cysts too. I guess a lot of women get them. My mother assures me there is no history of breast cancer in our family at all.

My ultrasound was today. The hard part is waiting for results really. Actually, I'm doing much better - I'm keeping a positive outlook on it. I really believe it's probably just benign cysts. The tech told me there are LOTs more benign possible things it could be than bad things it could be.

That there's no history is a good thing. Yeah, my sister has severe cysts but no cancer.... good wishes still coming!

My breast ultrasound came up with a fibroadenoma with two lobes. I am having a biopsy and/or consultation on Monday with a specialist.

Thank you Sleeps, Sky, and Ozzie.

Don't think I haven't noticed your support, Sleeps. I appreciate it.

Well, I went and it was a consultation only. My biopsy with excision is next Wednesday, but I'm very reassured and much more relaxed about it. I may have to stop taking my Geodon for a week before. They want me to contact my psychiatrist to see if it's ok with him, which I am trying to do.

The doctor doing the excision - she is renowned throughout the country for this type of thing. I'm in good hands.

Thank you all. I will have the excisional biopsy on Wednesday. I don't have to go without the Geodon, just can't take any aspirin. My husband is going to take me and my mother will take over for him when he has to go to work. She'll take me home. I won't be able to drive - I'll probably be in a "happy state" since the doctor said I'll get "happy juice."
