I feel like a big mess inside. I am SO tired!
It seems as though I've been battling tummy troubles forever! My internal medicine doctor has had me off carbohydrates (and fat) since Thursday. It freaking sux!! No breads, rice, cereal, etc. Those are my major favorites, along with the fruits that I have to avoid for my GERD. It just stinks! ![]() Yay ~ I get to go in for a colonoscopy on Thursday. I'm not looking forward to drinking that yucky stuff at all. To make matters worse, Kyra has a choir event that evening at school and Lena has Mommy's Day on Friday morning. I won't be able to drive to either event! ![]() UGH! Thanks for listening to me complain anyway....sorry. ![]()

Oh, I certainly don't envy you your colonoscopy tomorrow. I have to get an echocardiogram and MRA and some other tests done this month but gave myself the rest of this week and all of next "off" before scheduling the others.

![]() The prep absolutely IS the worst part ~ YUCK!! I do recall the doctor puting the endoscopy thing down my throat, and I was fighting ~ especially when he retracted a couple areas of tissue (to be tested for disease). His nurse had to hold my hands and keep me focused on her hands. That wasn't fun either...but that memory isn't as strong as choking down the yucky syrup drink. ![]() I'll find out my answers on Thursday. Thanks for thinking of me ![]()

Sorry for the late response and yes the prep for the colonoscopy is the worst. Did they give you the results - usually they can tell right away if somethings wrong. Do you eat yogurt at all - most know it has the friendly bacteria that's good for intestinal health.
I'm also prone to GERD but have found great relief by drinking 2tbsps of lemon juice followed with some water. I thought the lemon would make the acid burn more but it doesn't and laying on your left side helps too. The lemon trick doesn't work for everyone but it's worth a try. I hope everything turns out good for you and feel better soon ((shezbut))

I'm glad it is done for you. When I had my endoscopy and colonoscopy everyone told me I wouldn't remember what happened, but I totally remember. I'm glad you have these tests done. I hope you get good news. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi lynn
![]() I have been advised to avoid all dairy foods, carbohydrates, and sweets. Staying away from milk and carbs really stinks, but it has eased gas pains a lot. They didn't give me any results after the test, no. I wish that they would have! I believe that my esophagus is becoming more narrow, when they put that tube down my throat I woke struggling. I do often find myself choking as I try to swallow food and drinks. A scary sensation really! The food or drink is kind of in limbo as I finally get the darn thing to open up, then I can breathe. UGH! The lemon juice tip is interesting...I would think that it would burn the tissues.I suppose that it is worth a shot...I've done worse ![]() ![]()

We will see what the GI doc says on Thursday. I would expect that he has something to say about the scopes. Hopefully, something that answers my Q's & comes up with a solution to treat the symptoms. Thank you for your perspective and kind words!

I didn't resist, but I could feel them taking out the biopsies. Which the GI doc found very strange. I don't think she believed me until I started telling her when she was plucking them. They were also surprised about the amount of drugs they had to give me. I know one of them was an anti anxiety med, but I was already on lorazapam so I think that increased the needed dose. I know when I get my teeth worked on they have had to give me more meds and they have worn off faster than they have expected.
The thing that happened when I was under was that a new nurse came in and they didn't introduce her (not fun when your rear end is up in the air). I had to ask three or four times for what was going on. Then they finally told me that the nurses were changing shifts. You would think since I was talking to them they would have realized that I would notice that some new person came into the room. The results confirmed my diagnosis of Celiac. It would be nice if they could give results right away, but I know for me they had to look at the biopsies under the microscope. I'm glad you have an appointment set up. My doctor gave me my results over the phone. ![]() Good luck. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow, you guys are amazing!
![]() I don't know if I could ever have another if I remembered any part of them. I've had upper GI's, the colon thing, many ERCP's and an MRCP. Worst thing I had was one place wanted to spray my through which I'd never had done before and that resulted in the very strangest sensatioins, numbness and really odd feeling in my brain. I was nearly not able to handle that! |
