Uhh, how do you avoid the drunk feeling of pain medication? I mean, I can only feel a sharp pain in my back and a whooshy feeling everywhere else. It's like I'm filled with cotton, and everything I touch is really soft. Like my keyboard is so satiny and my hair is all silky and my bed is a freaking cloud of heaven. It's weird cuz I have a mattress with springs practically jabbing out. And I have bouts of dizziness. Mind I am on like 3 different meds right now, one of which is the Pill, and I started them all yesterday. They aren't even head pills, I just needs them cuz I'm like super sick. At least 'Im not hand flapping no more.
Anywhoo, how do you stop feeling so high? This is like hell dressed up as heaven, but I can't stop taking them without being in tremendous pain. And can someone PLEASE tell me I will not die if I go to sleep? I keep saying I won't, but I won't listen. God I am so stubborn. I drive me crazy. |

I've been on some pretty strong painkillers for years and have learned to "go with it" regarding the drunk feeling. You'll get use to it if you're on them long enough and the side effects won't be nearly as bad, but where's the fun in that?

If the med is making you uncomfortable with it's effects or seems too strong, you could contact the doctor who prescribed the med to see if there is something that would work better for you.
I think the reaction you are describing will diminish the longer you are on the med. |

There are some non-narcotic pain meds out there that don't have the "drunk feeling" but if you're in that much pain they might not be as effective as the narcotic ones.
Tramadol is the non narcotic I've taken in the past. Quote:
