Hi
I wasn't sure where to post this. I think this maybe the most logical forum to post this on though. Anyway, I have this bump/bulge that comes and goes on my armpits. And if I touch it, it hurts. The bump just came back yesterday and I'm so frustrated. This bump has been coming and going on my armpits for about 2 years. I know I should tell my mom but I'm too scared. I hate going to the doctor for anything. Have any of you ever had a bump/bulge on your armpit(s) that hurts whenever you touch it? I just want it to go away and never come back again. |

I haven't, sorry. What it sounds like is lymph fluids collecting there. You really should see a doctor about it because there are alot things it could be. Fortunately, most are pretty benign.

Might be a lymph node. Best to get it checked for your own peace of mind.

Yes I would agree it may be a lymph node (they can enlarge in response to an infection) or blocked sweat gland (have had these myself) - best to see a doctor about it for reassurance.

Thanks everyone for replying. I'm just gonna suck it up and tell my mom. I really need to get my bump checked out.

If you're a girl (sorry, I can't see profiles from my phone), a lymph node could become tender before your period, it's kinda like breast tissue? Or if you shave your underarms or just had a pimple, it could have gotten infected and turned into like a boil. Hot compress (hot wet washcloth) on it.

I get it a week before my period until about a week after, and it is painful and quite big in size. It is in the lymph node and is very common amongst women. Of course get it looked at to ease your mind and as a precaution,I did. Hope I've re assured you a little, take care JK |

Do you take anything for cramps for your period? If you take it now and it helps, cuz they say to take cramps med earlier rather than when cramps are hitting full force, because if you take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen, the cramps will be milder, they won't build up so strong. So if you are within a few days of your period starting, and a heating pad helps, you can be pretty sure of what you have. Right in the "crook" of your pit, right?

I use to take liquid Tylenol but they don't sell it in drug store where I'm from anymore. So now I take this chewable Acetaminophen tablets(they taste so good). It's in the middle of my armpit. And it feels round. You cant see it but you can feel it if you touch it. I'm not sure if I'm within a few days of my period starting. It usually starts later in the month. |

There's a few possibilities. Does it look like a boil/large pimple - if it does, then you need this treated by a doctor. It could also be an enlarged lymph node or sweat gland. The 3rd thing is what the other posters said - the breast tissue and breast glands to go into the armpit region....so monthly tenderness can cause discomfort. If its a sore sweat gland/lymph node, use a clean razor when shaving your armpits. If you recently changed your antiperspirant - sometimes this can be the culprit....you might even need to stop wearing antiperspirant for a few days . Some people do get recurrent infected pores in this region. After shaving you can put some hydrogen peroxide on your armpit, then use antiperspirant.

No, it doesn't look like a boil or large pimple. You cant see the bump. You have only feel it. There starting to go away again. It feels round and it hurts when you touch it. Sometimes it hurts on it's own. The last time I shaved my armpits was a couple of months ago. And I've changed my deodorant maybe 4 times, wondering if maybe it was the type of deodorant that I use that causes the bump on my armpits. I've been on my new deodorant for about 4-5 weeks I think. But it keeps coming back. Last night I put some Witch Hazel on it. I've done that before too, but it didn't go anything either. |

I've had this same problem and my doctor said its an irritated sweat gland and a few times I had a swollen lymph node. As long as it comes and goes, you don't need to worry.

As long as you have no problems with these pills or there will be no interference with any of your other meds I would give it a try. However if it's still causing you a lot of discomfort I would still get it checked out as there could be a little infection going through your glands that may require an antibiotic. Take care JK ![]() |

Thank you! That's a great idea. My bumps are all gone, for now. I have know clue when they'll be back but I'm sure that they'll be back soon. I still haven't told my mom about it. I'm so scared it's ridiculous...I even went to the doctor on Thursday, it was for my foot. Turns out I have painful flat footedness. That would have been the perfect time to tell my mom and the doctor. But, I chickened out.. |

It sounds like a lymph node. Don't say things like comes and goes no worry. There are semi bad things that can present this way.
Probably nothing bad but better be safe than sorry and see a real doc instead of trusting people on the Internet. |
