I am going to see a new gastro Dr. today. I have been with my regular gastro Dr. for years but he seems burnt out with an "I don't care" attitude. I'm not at all afraid of Drs, but I find this most unsettling. I'm afraid.

Thanks for reading this.

Jan

I'm sure your new dr will be professional and maybe you will like him more than the previous one! You might feel more confident in a person who seems to care about you.

The new Dr is so nice. So is his nurse. They are light years in action and caring from my old Dr. They also gave me new information that directly contradicted what the old Dr. told me. (They didn't know that, of course.) I came home and looked it up and by darn, they were right! It explains so much of why my colitis stays active.

I have to have a colonoscopy. Eeeeeeeeewwwww! The old Dr. never gave me enough meds to let me sleep. I have had so many and was awake for every bit of them. The new one promised he would do nothing until I was asleep and that he would get me stabilized.

I feel hopefull for the first time in years. I see a new family Dr. today. Let's hope he's as nice as the gastro Dr.

Thanks for caring. I really, really appreciate it.

Hugs to all,

Jan

good for you for going to two new doc appts!! hope the second is as nice as the new gastro MD is.

what a good feeling to sense when a doc really gets it with regards to our anxieties and fears about proceedures. this one sounds like he hears you and is willing to work with you to make YOUR experience smoother. now that's a doc worth keeping!!

great to hear a positive new doc experience on this board for those of us who have way too many doctors in our lives. there IS hope! I See a New Gastro Dr. Today

That's so great that it turned out better than you'd hoped. I don't like going to new healthcare providers either, not because of the procedures or anything, just because I don't know if I'll like their personalities or bedside manner or if they'll take my concerns seriously.
