OK, besides my usual triggers I'm crying at the drop of a hat because of hormonal changes. I've been working my recovery for 21 years but how do I deal with emotions that are started by physical reasons?

(((Lizzie B))) First off congrats on 21 yrs of recovery.
Have you had a good check up from your reg dr & had you hormone levels checked? If indicated after you get lab results, you have choices, HRT which is by prescription, Ativan or something for anxiety, something natural like black cohosh, or try & tough it out. All personal choice based on what your reg doc has to say.

Menopause, if that is what you're talking about, is tough on mood. With triggers you probably have a T, if so does he/she know how the hormonal stuff is affecting your mood?

Really feel for you, been there still doing that. The hormonal shifts vary for every woman, just know you are not alone.

Wish you the best.
Thanks for this!

When I was 42 yrs old, I was thrown into menopause due to a hysterectomy. My doc put me on HRT, which I took for several years, and I had NO symptoms of menopause at ALL. There were no mood swings, no crying jags, nothing! It was wonderful! LOL Of course, there are risks to being on HRT too, so you have to talk that over with your doctor. But for me, it was worth it.

I've also been thru therapy thru the years, and that has helped me alot too. Personally, I think everyone should see a therapist at some time or another.

I know this is miserable --- menopause can be pretty awful for a lot of women. It's a shame that women have to go thru so much. I wish you the very best! Please take good care of yourself, and God bless. Hugs, Lee
Thanks for this!

Thanks I will go to the doc and have hormone levels checked. Maybe, I can go on HRT or something. Hugs to you both.
